Which Outlook versions are supported?
The Classic version supports Outlook 2016, 2019, and Outlook Classic. The new M365 add-in also works in Outlook for Web and the new Outlook.
Does the recipient need special software?
No. The recipient only needs the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the encrypted PDF. Acrobat Reader is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.
How secure is the encryption?
Avamboo Encrypt uses AES-256-bit encryption – the same standard used by banks, government agencies, and the military. A brute-force attack on AES-256 is considered practically impossible.
Are attachments also encrypted?
Yes, all attachments are embedded in the encrypted PDF along with the email text and are fully protected.
Does Avamboo Encrypt work on terminal servers?
Yes, Avamboo Encrypt is terminal server compatible. Licensing is per user, not per installation.
